Overall Purpose of the Job
Lead Fund raising efforts of AKAH Afghanistan along with the increased visibility of AKAH among different stakeholders and partners at all level.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Lead the Resource Mobilization and Communication Portfolio of AKAH- Afghanistan
  • Develop Institutional framework for Resource Mobilization and Communication.
  • Interact with the different country and international level donors to solicit funds and resources within the scope of AKAH.
  • Interact with different departments at National and Provincial level to generate innovative concept notes, keep regular contact and deepen relationships and information sharing with donors.
  • Represents AKAH in relevant National, Regional and Global Platform to create the window of opportunity for funding.
  • Develop Proposals and Concept Notes around the intervention and thematic pillar of AKAH.
  • To Liase and work with AKDN Donor coordination unit at Global level.
  • Communicate with Global Resource Mobilization and Communication teaming Head Office to develop and improve funding opportunities and options.
  • Develop a roster of potential funding agencies through building understanding of their priorities and strategic direction.
  • Analyze the funding scope for Afghanistan and provide updates to Heads of Department and CEO.
  • Provide quality input and lead in the development of all standard Communication materials
  • Develop detailed annual workplans and related budgets for the Resource Mobilization and Communication department by understanding different departmental requirements.
  • Develop the annual communication calendar for AKAH, A.
  • Develop existing and new digital platforms to highlight AKAH’s work with a broader audience.
  • Organize marketing events that celebrate and showcase AKAH’s capabilities to the broader community, stakeholders, staff, beneficiaries and donors aligned with the Global AKAH framework and AKDN.
  • Develop communication protocol for internal and external communication in aligned with global office and coordination with HR, AKAH Afghanistan.
  • Any other assignment requested by line Manager.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: Adhere to the organizational processes and policies, raise donor funding and effectively market and communicate to AKAH stakeholders in order to contribute to the overall goal of AKAH in Afghanistan.

SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

Education: Master’s degree in Business Development and Administration, Communication, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, journalism or related field

Experience: More than 7 years of working experience in Resource Mobilization and communication in an international agency, development sectors, UN agencies etc. Ideally has work experience in resource mobilization with ECHO, EU, DFID, OFDA/USAID, Word Bank and other major donors. He/she should also be well versed with the communication protocols and framework for standardised communication practices.

Skills:

Technical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, well versed with donor language, drafting and designing of High-quality Proposals, concept notes, reports and other reports and documentation and timely delivery of assignment

Other Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, participatory inclusive approach, drives innovative new approaches to meet the changing needs of AKAH beneficiaries

Personal Characteristics: Strategic thinker, team builder, good listener, resilient to stressful situations Accepting of country and organizational cultures without prejudice, ability to bring people together around new ideas through positive influence, agrees with the ethos of AKDN and willing to adhere to the AKAH code of conduct
